Protective Styling: Week 9

This weekend, I had time to do lots to my hair.  I cleansed and exfoliated my scalp with a Rhassoul Clay treatment (post coming soon) and took out time to style my hair.  How did I do it, you ask?  Well, the boys were out all day Sunday.  It was a miracle! Chief actually asked me to go with but I took that as an opportunity to get some much needed girl time.  You just don't know the glee that came over me once the house was silent.  No MJ, no Chief.  I sure do love them to pieces but I was glad to see them go.

I'd been wanting to do bantu knots to get the  spirals that I love so much but as per the rules of the challenge, I'm not allowed to wear my hair out.  So I decided to do a flat twist set, some individual twists and then put them into bantu knots to make the twists curly.  I decided not to do individual twists all over because I loathe the amount of time that it takes to remove them.  Flat twists are much easier to take down at the end of the week.

I'm still working on my parting skills and I noticed that if I don't blow dry my hair first, it's not as easy to make a crisp part.  I supposed it'll all come with practice.

Here's what I came up with:

Hey Vee, does the Rhassoul clay help with itching scalp?

Thanks ladies!

@Michelle- yes it does but it's over time and with consistent use. If you're having problems with ithcy scalp, you can get a little neem oil and mix it with safflower OR jojoba oil and then a few drops of tea tree and massage it into your scalp twice a week. That should help with the itchies.
