Beauty Buys: August & September 2012

So what have I been up to since I made my last few posts?  Shopping like a maniac, that's what.  I think I've told you before that I'm not really a shopper throughout the year but instead, when my birthday draws near, the frequency of my shopping trips greatly increase.  That period of time has arrived which typically begins in August and leads all the way up to my birthday at the end of October.

I do shop throughout the year but not much at all for myself.  Usually everything is all about MJ and Chief and what they need.  I suppose after all, I've found my balance;  I do more for them throughout the year but when "my time" comes, it's all about me.  So here's what I've picked up:

I'd never been inside a Lush store until I accompanied my girl Jenelle there to pick up a body wash she was raving about.  While there I came across this Honey & Lime face mask and since I have a fascination with face masks I decided I'd give it a try.  Has anyone tried this one yet?  I have a feeling I'm going to like it.

L to R: CARGO Colorsticks Champagne & Maui  I've already used these a few times and I've fallen for them!  I'll have to do an in-depth post about these as soon as possible.  They are amazing.

Those of you that follow me on Instagram and are subscribers of the Pretty Girl Rock facebook page already know about these lipsticks but for those of you that don't know.  Please meet : MAC Diva, Goes & Goes, Quite the Thing!, Ruby Woo & Dark As Night.

These are some of the hottest lipstick shades for this fall.  I can't wait to swatch and share more about these beautiful lip colors with you in an upcoming post.

This is a sample set of the Too Faced primers, lip gloss and mascara.  I thought the sample set would be my best bet to see how I like their products.  I have no experience with Too Faced products although I hear lots of great things about them.

I was curious about this CARGO Jet Lag under eye concealer so I decided I'd give a whirl on those days where my eyes are looking just too tired.  I'll let you know how that goes.  Also, I have been wanted to grab a great liner for MAC Diva, Quite the Thing! & Dark as Night.  An artist as the MAC counter told me the Currant Lip Pencil would be a great match.  I have to say she was right.  Isn't it just a gorgeous color?!

And as if all of the above wasn't enough, I stopped over at Sephora.com solely to order my favorite body scrub of all time, The Gingerbread Man by Philosophy but while I was there, I also picked up a few pair of lashes that were on clearance.  I couldn't neglect the deal.  I just couldn't.
The Japonesque lashes, however are from Apothica.com.

Snagged a few new blushes and a contour : L to R:  CARGO Tonga, MAC Breezy, MAC Copper Beech sculpting cream

I've been loving this Tresemme conditioner as a rinse out and this is my second bottle.  I'll likely do a review soon.  I also picked up this Jane Carter Solution hair nourishing cream which I've been eyeing for a while and I can't wait to try it.

I also picked up MAC Girl About Town along the way but it's not pictured here.  I imagine I'll be wearing that throughout the fall as well.

What beauty purchases have you made lately?

Let me just say I've tried the brazened honey from lush and it is the strongest mask they have. It burns but that's only because the ingredients are sooooooo STRONG AND HERBAL. so brace yourself. I bought just recently the cantu coconut curling cream and Shea moisture coconut curling smoothie. Tried the cantu on 2 day old hair. Used h2o then the cantu. Went on nice but ends were crunchy. Very good for twist outs. Also when I separated the twists and then reapplied h2o curls were soft and bouncy. Will be trying the Shea moisture ccs

My beauty purchases usually involve eyebrow powder. I picked up ELF's clear mascara and brow gel. I also picked up there brow powder which I love.

I also love Shadow Insurance I swear by it for my brows! It's way better then Urban Decay in my opinion.
