After fall swung around, we still had a series of warm days here in the DMV but now this weather is quickly cooling down. Of course as the season's change so do moods and the colors we prefer to wear. As far as lipstick choices, I've been reaching for richer tones like sexy reds, berry tones and even eye popping purples to give my pout that extra oomph.
Here are the lipsticks I've been reaching for the most and what I'd also consider as some of the hottest lipstick colors for fall right now.
MAC Goes & Goes is a Pro Longwear lippie that can be found at both the MAC counter and the boutique. This lipstick...*sigh*...it was must have at first sight and when got it home, it was a bit of a challenge to figure out how to wear it without looking sick but once I did. Ah! Love! Plus, purple is my favorite color so I had to find a way to make it work and now, I can't do without it.
MAC Diva has been my go-to red. For some reason when I wear this color, it makes me feel sexy and mysterious. And of course if falls in line with one of the hottest colors of the season, Oxblood!
F.T.W. by Kat Von D is from the Foiled Love lipstick collection and has a slight metallic tinge to it. I think this is a perfect holiday color...make sure to moisturize before applying though, F.T.W. will dry you out if you don't do a little prep before hand. It's is available online at Sephora.com.

Tawny Port is a beautiful red from the Cover Girl Queen Collection and it's been with me for about a year now. This is my second tube and I think I'll always continue to buy this color as long as they make it. It's one of my favorites from the Queen Collection and I think it'd look great on almost any skin tone.
MAC Ruby Woo. Well, well, well if this isn't the ultimate red lipstick, I don't know what is. I've seen Ruby Woo on every skin tone from ivory to beautiful deep chocolate and I have to say that this red looks good on every girl I've seen. MAC really put their foot in this one--a definite must have that works for all seasons.
Last but not least is Quite the Thing! by MAC (yes, with the exclamation point) and it sure is quite the thing to have. It's a pretty magenta-purple with lots of sheen and rolls on silky smooth. This one does require a liner to have a little more staying power but it's a goodie nonetheless. Try this one and you won't be disappointed.

And as a bonus: since I'm so obsessed with this right now, Dark As Night Lipglass by MAC gets an honorable mention. I love wearing this over Diva by MAC because it gives the matte shade a super shine but it can also be worn alone.
I've never been a big fan of MAC's lipglass but Dark As Night just takes the cake for me right now. In a future post, I will share with you how to wear purple lipstick without looking sick and how to wear dark lipstick without looking like a goth queen. Stay tuned!
