Pretty Girl Rock: I live in a house full of men with my husband & son (with another baby boy on the way). As the only girl in the household, I'm certainly outnumbered and I originally created Pretty Girl Rock in July 2010 as a means of a creative outlet and deviation from all things involving men and boys. This blog is a place of discussion about more than just "pretty". What type of camera do I use? Prior to Dec. 2011, Nikon CoolPix 2100S. After Dec 2011, Canon EOS Rebel T3i. Lenses: 50mm (1.8), 55-200mm & 18-55mm kit lens.
What's my ethnicity? I'm a black american with Carolina (it goes much futher than that but you know history) and Hopi roots. And my eyes are green because I eat alot of vegetables. ;-p
How long have I been natural? My last relaxer was March 2008, half-chopped and went completely natural July 2008, big chopped again from "heat-trained" hair Feb 2010.
Do I ever straighten or blow dry my hair? Sometimes but not often. I have a wonderful stylist that knows how to properly care for my hair and have never suffered any heat damage or heat training.
What are my favorite products? Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque, Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat shampoo, Giovanni 50/50 Balanced shampoo, Garnier Fructic Pure Clean Conditioner. Oh! And anything Oyin Handmade!
What's my go-to style for my natural hair? Bantu Knots all day long. The results are consistent and I always get a bouncy curl with more stretch--even on day 1.
